The Russian Grain Union under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation holds the VI International Grain Trading Conference «Global and Middle East grain outlook 2011».

Over the past six years, the Conference has become a landmark event for the participants of the world grain market, which was attended by over 1 500 representatives from 52 countries, including Russia, Egypt, Ukraine, Switzerland, Turkey, Great Britain, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Algeria, Germany and other countries.

This year the Conference will be held in October, when the harvest is summed up, objective data on the total crop and the quality characteristics of grain are obtained, export potential of major world grain market players and the needs of importers are identified.

In the frameworks of the Conference the world's leading experts from major grain producing countries will provide estimates of the current state and trends of the situation at the world grain market, particularly wheat market, freight market development prospects and its impact on grain market, will cover the impact of exchange rate policy and the situation at financial markets on the grain market situation, problems of risk management in the international grain trade, legal aspects of grain supply to the Middle East. Possible scenarios of production, consumption and world grain trade development, considering population growth and global climate change, development of programs for biofuel production and deep processing of grain, transfer of grain production to other countries will be presented. Problems of Russian and Ukrainian return to the Middle East grain market and the associated issues will be discussed.

Vice Chairman of GASC – Mr No’omani Nasr No’omani – has confirmed his presentation with a report at the VI International Grain Trading Conference «Global and Middle East grain outlook 2011».

Representatives of survey companies will analyze qualitative characteristics of wheat crop 2011 in major exporting countries and assess their compliance with the requirements of importing countries. Representatives of importing countries will make an analysis of the results and problems of last season, assess wheat production, consumption and import prospects in 2010/11 marketing year, inform on the innovations of national grain import regulatory regimes. During the panel discussion, experts will present their forecasts of changes in world prices for wheat crop 2011, discuss key issues of the Mediterranean grain trade. A number of express-presentations of both traditional and new members of wheat market in the Middle East and North Africa will be held.
