India's Largest Exhibition on Agriculture, Farm Machinery, Dairy, Poultry, Livestock Equipment & Agri Processing Technologies

Introduction
Agriculture, with its allied sectors, is unquestionably the largest livelihood provider in India, more so in the vast rural areas. It also contributes a significant figure to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Sustainable agriculture, in terms of food security, rural employment, and environmentally sustainable technologies such as soil conservation, natural resource management and biodiversity protection, are essential for holistic rural development. Indian agriculture and allied activities have witnessed a green revolution, a white revolution, a yellow revolution and a blue revolution.

Currently, around 51 per cent of India's total workforce is engaged in agriculture and its allied sectors, like forestry, fisheries, and so on. For most of the 21st century India is expected to remain an agricultural society. One cannot underplay the role of agricultural growth in improving rural incomes and securing India's food and nutritional needs.

Our population is expected to be 1.4 billion by 2020. The increasing population, coupled with growing income will generate increased demand for food grains and non-food grain crops. Therefore, Indian agriculture has to achieve and maintain a consistent and higher growth rate of 4 per cent per annum.

Initiatives by Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Govt. of India
In recent years much emphasis has been given by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare on commercializing Indian agriculture. Strategies have been planned and schemes have been launched to achieve 4 per cent annual growth rate. These include focus on potential areas, regionally-differentiated strategies, crop diversification, precision farming, and scientific management of natural resources.

The new initiatives in the form of National Food Security Mission and RashtriyaKrishiVikasYojana launched by the Ministry of Agriculture are aimed at rejuvenating this sector.

Adequate production and distribution of food has become a high priority and global concern. In the fast changing world and increasing competition in a globalized economy, there is need to exploit the available resources to the maximum level and use the best internationally available technologies. This will help in coping with domestic demand for food and also contribute to international exports.

Global Scenario of Agriculture/Farm Mechanization:
Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, The BRICS Nations, along with Japan and Turkey are joining the ranks of heavy weight in agricultural machinery markets.

According to FederUnacoma report, India is world's largest tractor market, with sales of 620,000 units in 2014, providing clear proof that India has emerged as new agricultural machinery mega market.

In consonance of the efforts of Indian Government for making India self sufficient in food grain production and increasing farm income, Media Today Group is organizing AGRITECH INDIA 2018 - International Exhibition on Agriculture, Farm Machinery &Agri Processing Technologies in Bangalore International Exhibition Center (BIEC) Tumkur Road, Bangalore, India, 31st Aug - 02nd Sep 2018, The event will pump in more value additions to the existing technology from all over the world.
