Understory will showcase its patented weather technology, which provides actionable data from which decisions around input applications, irrigation, harvest dates and times and seed production can be made. Typical weather stations are often located in fields where variables such as moisture from nearby water and shade from surrounding trees can make it difficult to accurately determine ambient temperatures or rainfall levels, both important decision-making factors for farmers. Built utilizing an AI core, Understory’s weather sensors measures precise hail, rainfall, temperature, humidity, wind, evapotranspiration (moisture leaving the plant) and growing degree units (where a plant is in its life cycle to determine best harvesting time).
