The 3rd China Crop Protection Summit (the 3rd CCPS), convened by CCM International Limited (CCM), was held on March 18th and 19th in Shanghai. CCM invited over 100 attendees, including 70 executives from BASF, Bayer, Dow, Monsanto, Syngenta, Red Sun Group, Sinochem Shanghai, Nutriechem, Shenyang Research Institute of Chemical Industry.

Through the prosperity in 2008 and tough year of 2009, the recovering Chinese crop protection market was much concerned by the insiders around the world. During this critical time of its future development, CCM successfully built up a platform for communication between the Chinese crop protection industry and overseas, which cater to the strong desires to seeking partners among the companies from home and abroad.

Focused on “exploring the opportunities in the recovering industry”, the CCPS addressed concerns about the fate of the Chinese crop protection market. Two workshops respectively featured on M&A activities in China and fluoric pesticide intermediate industry were hosted during the summit. Subjects including rice insecticides in China, prospect for seed treatment industry, the innovation of pesticides, as well as topics of environmental protections and marketing issues were presented by the speakers. Furthermore, discussions between the participants and the speakers inspired by the host have given a more interactive way of communication.

As an industrial media specially invited by CCM, Agropages interviewed several attendees. Many of the attendees had attended the summit for consecutive years, they agreed that more progresses have been found in its scales, coordination and topics and spoke highly of CCM’s contribution in China’s crop protection industry.
