The Agrochemical trade event PMFAI – International Crop-Science Conference & Exhibition (ICSCE) began in Dubai today. The event is hosting about 500 delegates from various countries with more than 50 exhibitors showcasing their product portfolios during the two day event.

Mr. Pradip Dave, President, PMFAI during the inaugural address said, ″PMFAI – ICSCE 2022 has received tremendous response from the global agrochemical community. The two day event is hosting guest speakers and technical sessions for the agrochemical sector. This is the first physical event for the agrochemical sector which has delegates from across the globe. The event give opportunity to network, explore products and conduct meetings all at one place. This is the 16th International Crop-Science Conference & Exhibition which is India’s biggest Agri-Input trade summit being organised in Dubai (UAE)″.

The key note speaker of the event Mr. Vikram Shroff, Director, UPL Group said, ″The Indian agrochemical industry remained self-reliant during the covid period unlike other industries which needed financial support from the government. The agrochemical sector now needs to work together to remove the negativity which tarnishes the image of the sector. In the 5 trillion dollar agrochemical industry, Indian agrochemicals are accepted globally and are of the best quality. The industry with its massive manufacturing capacity should target $10 billion in exports from the existing $3.6 billion.

Mr. Rajesh Aggarwal, Insecticides India said, ″With increasing food requirement, there is huge potential for the crop protection industry to grow. The industry has enough opportunity to coexist in todays world of manufacturing with opportunities in domestic market, B2B, formulations and export. The healthy competition within the industry is the key to innovation and our farmers are able to get the best molecules at the cheapest rate.″

The event is also hosting 3rd PMFAI – SML Annual Award for the agrochemical sector. The awards are instituted by PMFAI and sponsored by Sulphur Mills Limited to recognises achievements and capabilities of Indian Agrochemical Industry.
