The 11th Brazilian Cotton Congress (CBA) will open its doors in an unprecedented location in Maceió, Alagoas, from August 29 to September 1, 2017. The event, under the responsibility of the Brazilian Association of Cotton Producers (Abrapa), will have a wide program of mini-courses, round tables and plenary sessions with content related to the main issues and demands of the cotton sector, aiming at debates on quality, sustainability and profitability.
The 10th Brazilian Cotton Congress attracted a huge number of participants and exhibitors, with the presence of foreign delegations from the United States, African countries and Latin America.
The president of the congress, Arlindo de Azevedo Moura, believes that opportunities for discussions within the industry like this are essential forkeeping cotton in the Brazilian agribusiness system, despite of possible interferences such as those caused by the competition with synthetic fiber . "There is an expectation in the industry for this biennial congress. That's because we have a history of success and we expect another year of success, "he adds.
The Congress, which has been in existence since 1997, is open to all professionals working in the cotton sector, from production to the textile industry, through suppliers, researchers, students and consultants. "This is a time for the entire cotton chain to gather around lectures that discuss areas related to the theme of this conference: innovation and profitability in cotton growing," concludes Arlindo Moura.
