China (Africa) Agrochemicals Summit and Exhibition sponsored by CCPIT Sub-Council of Chemical Industry and Egerton University receives full support from Agrochemical Association of Kenya (AAK), Kenya Pest Control Products Board (PCPB) and Pesticides Manufacturers and Formulators Association of India (PMFAI).

Egerton University, co-organizer of CAC Africa Summit, has outstanding advantage in agriculture study and research. It is located in Nakuru, capital of Great Rift Valley County, in the central of Great Rift Valley. Great Rift Valley area is the granary of Kenya, where most of the farms and flowers production cluster around.

Egerton University is strong in conducting agricultural market research, agricultural technology training and demonstration, has resources and facilities including agricultural demonstration zone and molecular biology laboratory, and enjoys high reputation in the agriculture industry in Kenya and Africa.

We will make full use of agricultural resources in Nakuru and extensive connections with local industry; invite officials, experts and professionals from pesticide management authority, agricultural technology extension authority, association, industry players and farms in Kenya and neighboring countries.

Currently, high official from PCPB, pesticide registration management authority has confirmed to support and attend CAC Africa Summit, and exhibition visitors are estimated to exceed 1000.

Most African countries are mainly dominated by traditional agriculture. With the increase in population, the recent years see rapid development in pesticide market and growing demand for pesticides. Kenya has a population of 41 million, and it is the largest economy in East Africa, and one of gateways of Africa. Agriculture dominates Kenyan economy, accounting for 24% of GDP. Almost 75% of Kenyans live on farming. Corn, wheat, rice, beans, potatoes are main food corps in Kenya which has been a leader in producing tea, coffee and flower. Kenya pesticide market now faces many competitors from 32 countries including China, Germany, India, Japan, the United States, Switzerland, etc. As of 2014, Kenya PCPB issued 1,272 kinds of pesticides, 301 Chinese agrichemical companies registered in Kenya, accounting for 24% of all foreign agrichemical companies and ranking first.

China has built sound traditional friendship and cooperation with Africa, and it will further promote China-Africa new strategic partnership under the new situation. China is a big producer and exporter of pesticides, provides efficiency, low toxic and residue, safe, reliable, quality and cheap pesticide products which have gained popularity among African farmers; considering this, the two countries hold huge cooperative potentiality and strong complementarity.

The opening of China (Africa) Agrochemicals Summit and Exhibition will further strengthen China-Africa economic, technical and trade exchanges in the field of agricultural chemicals and promote investment and cooperation between Chinese and African companies.

Main display objects: Plant protection products such as pesticides, bio-pesticides, fertilizers, new fertilizers, pesticide intermediates, plant growth regulating agents, etc.; agricultural machinery and equipment, agricultural irrigation equipment, various agricultural and biological engineering technology and products.
