We hope you will join us for the 2015 CPDA Summer Conference & Annual Meeting and the 2015 CPDA-Canada Meeting at the Hermitage Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. The meeting will provide CPDA members an opportunity to hear the latest updates on those high priority issues of importance to their businesses while also offering a relaxed and social setting conducive to catching up with long-time friends in the industry. The CPDA Summer Conference & Annual Meeting provides an intimate forum for the exchange of information on the current challenges in agricultural production and the opportunities for innovation in agrotechnology to meet these challenges. The program is geared to provide topical and critical information on issues affecting adjuvant and inert ingredient suppliers, and manufacturers, formulators and distributors of post patent pesticides and other agrotechnology products.
The Conference is expected to provide in-depth assessments of:
Intellectual Property Rights and Design Strategy for Patenting Combinations: How to identify and scope for prior art, how to develop strategies patenting combinations of off-patent chemistries and how to determine “novelty.”
Impact of HCS 2012 on Manufacturers, Formulators and Distributors of Non-Pesticide Agrotechnology Products on the US: As CPDA awaits a final response on its industry request for relief of the need to relabel non-pesticide agrochemical products, Maureen Ruskin, OSHA, has been invited to inform attendees on the status of implementation of HCS2012.
A Brief History of the JITF and JITF Data Compensation: The presentation will include discussion of data compensation for inerts, the cost of data versus joining a cluster, offer-to-pay requests to cluster and issues of exclusive use. A follow-on roundtable is planned for the afternoon that will include a panel of industry experts who will delve deeper into these issues and provide for a Q & A session for attendees.
ROUNDTABLE: On Tuesday afternoon, a roundtable will be convened to discuss the current status of and expectations for changes to the registration process for post patent pesticides, including the arduous arbitration process, and implications of the newly-adopted WHMIS 2015 on the distributors of fertilizers and other non-pesticide agrotechnology products in Canada.
PANEL: Weed Resistance Management and Co-Packs: Opportunities, Challenges and Threats: Representatives from EPA, extension, distribution and agricultural production are being pulled together to discuss the current and future impacts of weed resistance management programs at the state and federal level on agrotechnology suppliers and growers and how all sectors may best work together.
The Global Agrotechnology Industry Outlook for 2015: World renown expert Matthew Phillips will again this year provide the much sought after in-depth overview of trends in global agricultural production and the impacts of this on the pesticide and agrotechnology industry.
The Conference will begin with the General Session at 3:30 PM on August 3, followed by the Opening Reception from 6:00-7:30 PM. We hope to see you all there!
The schedule on Tuesday, August 4, will begin with a morning speakers program to be followed by the afternoon roundtable discussions. Tuesday evening will start off with the ever popular PAC Reception, Silent Auction and Raffle and will conclude with the Awards Banquet.
The Summer Conference & Annual Meeting will wrap up on the morning of Wednesday, August 5, with the final General Session.
