APK-Inform Agency announces the 2nd international conference of Middle East Grain Congress, which will be held on February 23, 2016 in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai.

The legal sponsor of the event is the company AGA Partners

Despite the growing influence of political uncertainty, the region MENA (Middle East and North Africa) is still the center of the global grain trade. It is here that the main focus the interests of key players. The increase in domestic production has also attracted the attention of key players. Discussed for some time now, possible lower dependence on grain import in some countries, such as Egypt, Iran, and, as a result, high competition, only increases the interest in this region.

Thus, according to the USDA, wheat harvest in the Middle East in 2015/16 is estimated at 40.85 million tonnes against 35.117 million tonnes from the last season. Wheat production in the North Africa is 20 million tonnes against 16.9 million tonnes in 2014/15 MY. At the same time, the domestic consumption in the Middle East is predicted to reach 60.06 million tonnes, up 2 million tonnes from the last year's result. The North Africa sees a similar trend: 44.325 million tonnes as compared to 42.9 million tonnes respectively.

Given the changing rules of the game in the Egyptian market, this year they have decided to change the venue of the event and hold it in Dubai. The UAE can be easily considered as the main business center of the Middle East. The convenient geographical location, in particular, access to the markets of the Gulf countries, North Africa and the Middle East region provide new opportunities for the participants.
