The ecotoxicology plays a crucial role in the environmental safety assessment of agrochemicals, as the risk acceptability is concluded in this section. The assessment can result in the necessity of restricted uses and mitigation measures, and is therefore, not only an essential part of the registration process but also with sensitive implications on the market value of plant protection products.
This seminar aims to give a good understanding of the data requirements and their importance within the risk assessments. It further displays options to refine the assessment schemes by substance and use-specific parameters in accordance to European regulation 1107/2009.
The day covers a set of topics amongst others on:
- EU regulatory background, protection goals, principles of environmental risk assessment and an overview of data requirements.
- Risk assessment on key organism groups.
The theoretical part will be consolidated by practical exercises.
