Agrochemical is an important agricultural support industry which boosts agricultural yield by controlling the pests and diseases in the farm land. To ensure sustainable growth, it is important that Indian Agriculture not only safeguard the need of growing population, but also caters to the need for nutrition by ensuring environmentally safe “crop protection & crop health solutions”. Farmers worldwide are taking steps to conduct agriculture in a sustainable manner. Environmental impacts on farming can be reduced significantly using precision farming methodology because it reduces the impact of agricultural pollutants, such as fertilizers and pesticides, on bio-diversity and water quality.

Sustainable agriculture that achieves adequate, safe and quality food production improves farmer livelihoods and conserves non-renewable energy. There are good emerging trends and solutions for sustainable crop protection which includes crop protection chemicals, agronomy, fertigation, seed treatment, bio-technology development etc. To bring focus to the role of agrochemicals in sustainable farming, FICCI with the support of Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Government of India is organizing the 8th Agrochemicals Conference, 2019 with the theme “Role of Agrochemicals in Sustainable Farming” on 16th July 2019 at Hotel Taj Man Singh, New Delhi.
