The II. Crop Protection Regulatory Conference

This year, the conference will focus on the European Commission’s proposed Food and Feed Safety Simplification Omnibus and possible amendments to Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009, alongside recent developments in active substance and product evaluations, key legal rulings, and the post-patent plant protection sector’s role in strengthening Europe’s agricultural competitiveness.

Representatives from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) will discuss key developments in the evaluation process, in addition to officials from the European Parliament and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Health & Food Safety (DG SANTE) officials who will address regulatory developments at EU and SCoPAFF level.

The conference will also host a special roundtable on EU and non-EU countries’ experiences with active substance and product evaluations, featuring representatives from DGAV Portugal, ÚKZÚZ Czechia, FPS Belgium and CropLife United Kingdom.

Moreover, a dedicated session on agricultural competitiveness will open with a presentation from AgbioInvestor that will provide insights into global developments and investment trends, setting the scene for a broader discussion on the availability of plant protection solutions for farmers and their impact on yields, profitability and broader competitiveness.
