Why Mersin?
 
THE AGRICULTURE CAPITAL OF SOUTHEASTERN OF TURKEY
 
Mersin is the main gateway hub of Turkey related with Middle-East, North African countries, East and West Europe, Russian Federation and the Turkic Republics with its free trade zone and investment potential.
 
Mersin is located in southeast mediterranean coast of Turkey and the city links west to The Southestern Anatolia Project ( GAP ) and Middle East with its huge oppurtunities in agricultural investment and potential. Mersin as a region, has around %20 of the total agricultural production of Turkey. Mersin has also ranked in the top 10 city of Turkey’s agricultural potential for investment and exportation. Production capacity of about 36 million tons of fruit and vegetables in a year that has allowed to Turkey to gain one of the most important exporters of all Europe. Furthermore MERSIN FREE TRADE ZONE is in the 4th rank with its 2.2 billion USD trade volume in Turkey.
 
Agricultural Potential of MERSIN
 
Mersin as a city, is considered Turkey’s agricultural warehouse and has been acting one of the most important producer of vegetables & fruits of Turkey.
 
%64 lemon production,%69 citrus, %86 pulse exportation of Turkey is made over from Mersin. Mersin has the first rank on fruit production, third rank on vegetables production among Turkey. Around 70.000 tones tomatoes and around 90.000 tones strawberry exported to Russia, Middle East and Europe Markets in 2011.
