Why Exhibit?
Agrochemex Indonesia is another thematic agriculture exhibition in Southeast Asia mainly engaged in the agrichemicals and agricultural mechanical equipments, following the successful organization of "2013 Myanmar International Agricultural Exhibition". Based on the rapid development and potential demand in agrichemicals and agricultural equipments industry in emerging market, a specific trade platform in Indonesia is established by the intensive cooperation of China Crop Protection Industry Association, China Agricultural Machinery Distribution Association and China National Chemical Information Center. Exhibition organizers would manage the participation of the targeted buyers and visitors to promote the exhibiting efficiency and effectiveness for the exhibitors.
Agrochemex Indonesia is committed to enhancing the trade expansion, developing the invested projects of foreign companies in Indonesia and it has gained the support of the Crop Protection Association and Ministry of Agriculture of Indonesia, India, Vietnam and Thailand. The active participation of the exhibitors from Indonesian and the other Asian countries would strengthen the internationalization and influence of the expo.
2nd Asian Crop Protection Forum is concurrently organized in the exhibition, which will facilitate the enterprises’ comprehensive understanding of the current situation and the trend of the development of local market. The combination of the exhibition and forum would mutually promote and effectively broaden the influence in the world agriculture industry and maximize the trade cooperation and investment opportunities to the companies.
Why Indonesia?
1. Huge potential market
Indonesia, as one of the largest economies in Asia, is the most populated archipelago country in Southeast Asia. The islands of Java and Bali account for only 7 percent of Indonesia’s total land area but 60 percent of the population. Agriculture is very intensive on these islands, with up to three crop rotations per year. Indonesia boasts huge reserves of natural resources and its GDP accounts for half of the sum of all the ASEAN countries.
The Government of Indonesia has made a great effort to integrate the Indonesian economy into the world economy, whose annual growth rate is about 6%, next only to China in the G20 member countries. Indonesia aims to earn its place as one of the world developed countries by 2025 with expected per capita income of USD $14,250-$15,500 and total gross domestic product of USD $4.0-$4.5 trillion.
2. Great market demand
The role of agriculture in Indonesia is increased in recent years for the exports increased by 16% on average annually during 2004-2009. Indonesia is one of the world’s largest producers and exporters of tree crops such as rubber, copra, palm kernels, palm oil, coffee, cocoa and spices, while the fast development in agriculture industry is obstructed by the lack of both quality and quantity of its infrastructure and crop protection agrochemicals, such as agricultural machinery, irrigation systems, fertilizers and pesticides, those requirement are evolving the business opportunities for the companies in related industry worldwide.
There are more than 200 crop protection manufacturers in Indonesia with annual output of agrochemicals about $ 550 million, among which, 35% from local enterprises, 60% from foreign companies, and 5% from others, while the raw materials preparation required for this industry are scare, and 90% depends on import.
3. Favorable Investment Policy
Currently Indonesia is in progress of implementing tax incentives for both foreign and domestic investors who are planning investments that meet specific criteria and are destined for specific sectors. In particular, tax incentives for investments in the agriculture sector are placed high on the government's agenda as the country's economic growth is mainly on agriculture industry. Mahendra Siregar, Head of the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) is optimistic that realized investment in Indonesia can reach over IDR 100 trillion (USD $8.6 billion) in the first quarter of 2014, this is a new era of more open trade policy in Indonesia.
