SAVE THE DATE! 22nd European Biomass Conference and Exhibition: 23-26 June 2014 in Hamburg

Held in different countries annually, the EU BC&E successfully combines a highly respected international scientific conference with an industry exhibition ranking as one of the top world leading events in the biomass sector.

What”s new?

Call for abstracts

The 2014 Conference marks the first edition where the call for abstracts is open not only for scientific presentations but also for industry-oriented presentations.
To attract and engage industry, the Executive Committee has decided to set up the Industry Committee coordinated by Kyriakos Maniatis from DG ENER, that will evaluate abstracts in order to promote the interests and needs of the Bioenergy Industry. The special call for Industry Abstracts marks an opportunity for the Bioenergy Industry to complement the scientific programme of the 22nd EU BC&E. Furthermore, the Industry Committee may directly suggest key personalities from the industry to make presentations on strategic subjects.
Deadline for receipt of abstracts: 28 October 2013

Call for Parallel Events - Thematic sessions integrated into the main conference programme

Among the many activities of the 22nd EU BC&E an important role will be played by 4 parallel events focusing on dedicated subjects of particular interest. In order to give the stakeholders the opportunity to be engaged in structuring the Conference, the call for parallel events is now open.

Call for challenging events - Workshops and Project Meetings

Events will be welcomed within the framework of the 22nd EU BC&E and promoted on the website as part of the complementary programme.
Organise a workshop or a project meeting or your own event during the 22nd EU BC&E! This will offer you high visibility and an opportunity to reach the most important international key players and get in touch with stakeholders in one of the most important networking opportunities.

Why Hamburg?
A city like Hamburg offers endless possibilities for visitors with a veritable kaleidoscope of attractions ranging from more than 50 museums and a host of venues for drama, concerts and musicals to the second largest European harbour.

Besides its long and well-known Hanseatic trading tradition, Hamburg is home to Europe”s most innovative and future oriented districts such as Wilhelmsburg. Here, you can discover new sustainable buildings in the works or already completed such as the Algae-House and the Woodcube, probably the most prominent examples of housing concepts with integrated biomass use.

The CCH - Congress Center Hamburg is one of the biggest and most contemporary centres in Europe with a complete range of services, a large capacity and its compact architecture in a large space. It is centrally located in downtown Hamburg near the "Dammtor" InterCity train station. You can reach it quickly and reliably using any means of transportation.

Background

This event is supported by European and international organizations such as the European Commission, UNESCO - United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Natural Sciences Sector, EUBIA - the European Biomass Industry Association, WCRE - the World Council for Renewable Energy and further organisations.
The Technical Programme is coordinated by the European Commission, Joint Research Centre.
